Why Community Matters—for Girls and Their Grown-Ups
At Joyful Girls Club, we believe girls thrive when they have strong, positive friendships—and not just at school. Having community outside of the classroom gives girls space to be themselves, build confidence, and feel supported as they grow.
Whether it’s through a shared activity, thoughtful conversation, or a good laugh, friendships formed outside of school help girls feel connected and seen in ways that go beyond academics. These relationships are where trust is built, values are shaped, and joy is shared. And those moments? They stick with them.
But here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: the same is true for us as parents and caregivers.
We need community, too.
Raising girls in today’s world is no small task. Having a supportive circle—people who understand, who show up, who can offer encouragement or just listen—makes all the difference. It’s how we stay grounded, recharged, and connected.
That’s why Joyful Girls Club isn’t just about the girls. It’s about building a village for all of us. And we’re kicking things off with an event that brings both generations together.
Join us on Saturday, June 7 from noon to 3 p.m. ET in Metro Detroit for our first-ever event: Joyful Blooms.
This gathering is all about creating space—for girls to meet new friends and express themselves, and for grown-ups to connect, recharge, and feel supported. There will be fun activities, sweet treats, and meaningful moments for everyone.
If you’ve been looking for community, here’s your invitation.
Come grow with us.
